Bafunny Bafunny, SA’s star-studded Comedy Team featuring eight of the funniest stand-up comedians from the Host Country, returned home victoriously from London after their magnificent performance at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall. Filled to the brim with mostly South African fans, the team received a standing ovation from the cheering crowd as they scored laugh after laugh during their “away game” and made history as the first South African Comedy Production to be staged at the Royal Albert Hall.
The team is set for a hero’s welcome when they tour South Africa in the upcoming weeks as more than 30,000 fans have already bought tickets to the show – selling out across the country. “The response from fans has been overwhelming and we are extremely pleased with the results - something that very few comedy tours have achieved. The demand for tickets has left us with no other option but to open additional dates,” says creator Sam Hendrikse. Four additional shows have been added to the fixtures list, 30 June and 1 July in Durban at the ICC, as well as 4 and 5 July at the Grand Arena in Cape Town.
Created by Comedy specialists Hunta Live who are no strangers to hosting international comedy heavy-weights in arenas across SA (Chris Rock’s No Apologies Tour to SA, Wayne Brady’s Making it Up SA Tour), their latest offering, Bafunny Bafunny, is set to break all records for a SA Comedy Production.
