…Real actual comedy was on show. Not to mention the comedians bringing on the acts throughout the weekend. Like an old pair of jeans, they slipped into their role as MCs and then an hour of sundowner comedy on Saturday hosted by Rob Van Vuuren that saw the tent packed to capacity. Proving once again that festival goers love comedy. The much anticipated return of T.M.A.S & Corne and Twakkie was cut short by Louw Venter’s slpped disk and he spent the weekend in the relative luxury of an empty Swellendam Hospital. He survived an Island but the Creek got him in the end. But Rob Van Vuuren stepped up and gave the crowd a taste of what it was like in the old days for Corne and Twakkie in ‘lieu’ of an actual show, telling stories while Dave Levinsohn hosted the TMAS (The Most Amazing Show) hour with sublime improv about his tent and masturbation techniques while camping with Paul Snodgrass. Rob is also the first comedian to use the word ‘Lieu’ in a stand up routine.

Paul Snodgrass hosted all the bands as if they were entering the arena on WWF, and this woke most of the hippies up, although it was a good thing cos after Flat Stanley you do need a kick in the head to wake you up. So paul was perfect… for waking you up. He shouted his routine and scared the kids, Dave hosted with style and Rob rounded off the festival. This capped what was an exceptionally well oiled machine. Next year we hope to see you there, this time maybe a few more comedians and a Sunday morning comedy show? Early Bird comedy special? and some more girl bands maybe?

Paul Snodgrass shouts at the people… the kids cry!
